Ipanema is a composition I have returned to several times. Each time the palette and emphasis is entirely different but it always relies on highly contrasting tones created by intense sun. This version, which features approximately 50 colours, is true to the original image and its vivid beach hues. What I particularly like about the scene is its stillness, despite the melee of colour and shape, with the two principal figures creating movement from left to right.
